| The English language learner population in Summit School
District has grown over 2000% since 1995. Currently English language
learners comprise twenty percent of the total population in Summit
Schools, and bring with them linguistic diversity from more than thirteen
native languages. Although there are English language learners in
all schools throughout the district, some schools have larger populations
than others, ranging from five to forty percent of the school's total
population. Additionally, approximately twenty percent of the district's
student population comes from an ethnic minority group. |
